Marital Rape and Robbery.

The Delhi High Court, is currently hearing pleas seeking to make marital rape an offence. The honourable judges say that ".........The man will have to prove that she was a consenting party,”

Here the accused will have to prove his innocence. This is against all principles of natural justice.

While on this topic a reader once posed a question.

'If the man can be accused of rape for supposedly having sex without his wife's consent. Can the man charge his wife with robbery, if she supposedly spends his hard earned money without his consent?'

A husband and wife are almost always capable of resolving their own issues or come to an understanding provided there is little or no interference by the State. Once the government and judiciary gets involved into the personal and intimate lives of people, it always causes great harm to liberty. It also promotes abuse and exploitation by the state which fuels corruption.

A draconian law is necessary when it has impact on the vast majority and not the freak cases. History has always shown that greater the number of laws more corrupt the society.

Critics say that misplaced notions of Western feminism driven by their Marxist ideologies is driving these pleas and demands for legislation.
Their stated goal is to destroy society as it exists. A key target for destruction is the family institution, for it is the most fundamental unit of society.

No judiciary or government can ever replace the role and responsibilities of man and woman in a marriage.

In USA where such legislation has been passed. The number of people getting married has dropped by over 60% since then.
Worse 50% of children now come home to a no parent or single parent home when they return from school.

Homes broken by excessive government and judicial intervention can only lead to a broken society.
How can that be a good thing?

Unless their objective is to destroy the institution of marriage. They must allow long established and successful social and community institutions to function and help counsel the couples.

Why its April Fool's Day?

Six million Britons went to bed on September 2, 1752, and woke up on September 14. The reason? The Calendar (New Style) Act of 1750.

The mystery begins in 1582 when  Pope Gregory XIII was reigning as leader of the Roman Catholic church. He discovered that the Julian calendar that the church used at the time measured a year as 365 days and 6 hours long.

Actually the average length of a year is 365 days, 5 hours and 49 minutes.

Over 1300 years the error became very significant. So he released a Papal bull (a declaration from the leader of the Catholic Church) —decreeing that every country would have to shift to a new calendar and skip some days.

Britain being mainly a Protestant nation cared little for the Pope's wishes. Soon many Europeans and many parts of the world changed from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. Eventually 168 years later Britain too decided to shift.

So the King ordered that 11 days be wiped off the calendar in Sept 1752. The workers worked for only 19 days but were paid for 30 days. Some historians claim that is how the concept of 'paid leave' was born.

In the Roman Julian calendar the year began on 01 April, whereas the Gregorian calendar began on 01 January. Many Britons refused to change tradition and continued to celebrate 01 April as New year's day.

When royal orders failed to stop the celebrations on 01 April, the King decreed that all those who celebrate New Year's day on 01 April wold be called 'fools'.

Ordering Pizza nowadays - The reality

“Hello - is this George's Pizza?”

“No, sir - it's Google’s Pizza.”

“I must have dialled a wrong number.  Sorry.”

“No, sir, this is the correct number. Google bought George's Pizza last month.”

“Oh!  Okay,  I would like to order a pizza.”

“Do you want your usual, sir?”

“My usual?  You know me?”

“According to our caller ID data, the last 12 times you called you ordered an extra-large pizza with three cheeses, spicy lamb masala tikka , and mushrooms on a thick crust."

“Right! That's what I want.”

“May I suggest that this time you order a pizza with broccoli, mixed vegetables, sun-dried tomatoes and olives on a whole wheat, gluten-free, thin crust?”

“What?  I detest vegetables!”

“Your cholesterol is not good, sir.”

“How the hell do you know that?”

“We cross-referenced your home phone number with your medical records. We have the result of your blood tests for the last 7 years.”

“No, I don’t want a vegetable pizza - I take medication for cholesterol.”

“Excuse me, sir, but you have not taken your medication regularly.  According to our database you purchased a box of 30 cholesterol tablets once at Drug sale Network, 4 months ago.”

“I bought more from another drugstore.

“That doesn't show on your credit card statement.”

“I paid cash.”

“But you did not withdraw enough cash according to your bank statement.”

“I have other sources of cash.”

“That doesn't show on your last tax return, unless you're using an undeclared income source, which is against the law.”

“WHAT THE HELL? ! ! ! !”

“I'm sorry, sir, we use such information only with the sole intention of helping you.”

“Well I'm sick to death of Google, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp and the others!!  I'm going to an island with no internet, no cable TV – some place where there is no cell phone service and no one to spy on me!”

“I understand, sir.  But you need to renew your passport first?  It expired 6 weeks ago.”
