Cicero (43 B.C) of the Roman empire wrote this.
Do people and things ever change?
1. The poor, work and work.
2. The rich, exploit the poor.
3. The soldier, protects both.
4. The taxpayer, pays for all the three.
5. The wanderer, rests for all the four.
6. The drunk, drinks for all the five.
7. The banker, robs all the six.
8. The lawyer, misleads all the seven.
9. The tax collector, kills all the eight.
10. The undertaker, buries all the nine.
11. The Politician and Prostitute live happily on account of all the ten.
Hahaha..good one !
ReplyDeleteThe question is : Would one prefer to be a politician/prostitute over working honestly.. anyday?

Dear Kamal ji,
ReplyDeleteThe entire crux of the issue is power.
I can be very kind and magnanimous and stroke my beard while placing my hand in your pocket to remove your money.
The politician wants control of our freedom and our resources using the legitamacy and power of the state.
Take the case of a car owner and the driver. You may own the car in name and by law, but when I drive it, it is mine to use.
Such is the case with Politicans.
I cannot tell you what others should do but this is what I am doing.
I try to live a life free of pretences and falsehoods, practicing highest possible form of dharma. In short I try to be a model human being and world citizen.
I speak openly and reach out to like minded and people who share my beliefs.
This gives me a sense of freedom and I feel that I attract many people to me. Many are drawn to me from a point of curiousity and just pass me by.
I work for social organisations committed to development, and as CEO of Rashtriya Life Saving Society (RLSSI) I and my colleagues are looking to save as many lives as possible. www.lifesavingindia.org
We plan to train every Indian in First Aid by 2040.
This could be a unifying point for our people and the start of a better society.
The common man by himself can do nothing significant, but collectively can do much. Let us stop looking to others for succour (relief or help) and do as much as possible as individuals and as communities.
It is easy to ensalve a body but not an awakened mind and spirit.
Many thanks for making me think my thoughts through.
God Bless you and have a great Diwali.

ReplyDeletethanks sir for this.
the need is to activise I WE AND ALSO THEY.
YOU MENTIONED ABOUT I. GOOD ENOUGH. WE ARE ALL DOING OUR BIT IN OUR OWN WAY. GOOD AND VERY GOOD.
NOW THE CHALLENGE IS ABOUT WE......HOW TO DEFINE OUR WE AND THEN EXPLORE NETWORKING.
THE CHALLENGING IS FOR THEY THEY THEY..... THIS IS THE MOST DIFFICULT AND ONEROUS TASK.
I AM IN MY OWN WAY WROTE 40 BOOKS, WORKED IN THE UNWORKED AREAS AND TRYING TO
MARKET THE UNMARKETED. IN A HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL WAY.
ENJOYING EVERY BIT OF IT, SELF IS SATISFIED, BUT THINK THAT WITH FINGERS TO FIST WE COULD DO MUCH LASTING AND IMPACT MAKING LEADING TO
SHUBHA LABHA WITH SWARTHA ,PARARTHA AND PARMARTHA.
HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU ON THESE WITH SUGGESTIONS
IN THE ERA OF THIS IT, AND MASS AWAKENING, WE HAVE GRETER ROLE TO PLAY ALL IN I WE AND THEY.... LET US THINK.
PRANAM.
